kickin' new flavor in ya ear

Check out rising rap collab Odd Future

There’s a new revolution in rap music

and it’s called Odd Future, or as their full

name, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All

(OFWGKTA). The group from Los Angeles

is comprised of 11 rappers and producers

all between the ages of 16 and 23. One

of their members, Earl, is missing, too.

Sounds insane, right? Well, it is.

So far, they have eight albums all for free

download on their website. Their tracks are

the rawest cuts out there, blasting anything

or anyone that is not cool enough to them.

They have this dark humor where

they enjoy causing scenes and pushing

boundaries to freak people out.  They

rap about extreme violence, explicit sex,

Satan, not having a father figure, hurting

mainstream pop artists, how they hate

Steve Harvey, etc. You get it.

The group is led by Tyler the Creator.

He has this menacing dark growl. His first

studio-produced album, Goblin, will be out

May 10.

In one of Tyler’s first songs, “Sarah,”

he raps about murdering a girl he likes

because she won’t go to prom with him. It’s

interesting to get inside OFWKTA’s head

(or at least try to). Kanye West called his video “Yonkers” one of the best in 2011.

Their concerts have been compared to

a punk show filled with blood, spit, stage

diving, crowd surfing and moshing. They

have become labeled as “horrorcore,”

which they find as an insult.

Their music really cannot be put into a

category now; nothing compares to them.

They are extremely dark with secrets

scattered around all of their songs—you

just need to piece it all together.

When listening, you may have no idea

what you are getting yourself into, but

you’ll think, how did you enjoy music

without them?
